This superb late Porsche 356SC is fresh from a no expense spared restoration, finished in it’s original specification of Sky Blue (colour code 6403) with grey leatherette upholstery.
Powered by it’s original 95hp 1600SC engine (821015), this totally restored Porsche must be one of the finest on the road today.
A stalled restoration by specialists in the USA costing then $20,000, the car was brought to the UK where a UK Porsche accredited bodyshop undertook a complete restoration. Most body panels were replaced followed by restripping and then electrophoretically coated (pictorial record)
The engine was rebuilt by top Porsche specialist Mike Bainbridge with new twin 40idf carbs together with a gearbox rebuild by Gears of Southport. The parts bills with labour totalling over £10,000. Genuine parts were used wherever possible.
The suspension was renewed with reconditioned brake calipers, new steering box and a full wheel alignment.
A new wiring harness has been installed and the electrics converted to 12volt, a very sensible upgrade.
Seats and carpets have been retrimmed by Kew Coachtrimmers.
