A very interesting project and historic category eligible car. Last on the
road in 2004, where it took part in the 2004 Liege-Rome-Liege, this car has
taken part in 2 Monte Carlo challenges as well as the Rally of the Tests.
Powered by an original 1592cc 4 cylinder engine mated to a four speed manual
gearbox, the car ran when put into storage ran and changed gear well.
Eligible for virtually all events the car has the all important FIVA and FIA
documentation which will need to be renewed by the next custodian
This Rapier was commissioned to be built by Philip Langford, the Rootes
Director, at the Ryton factory, as a factory built replica of the very
successful Rootes Team cars. He subsequently kept the car for 27 years and
then this 2 door coupe passed through further owners who campaigned it on
various events throughout Europe.
The car is ftted with Safety Devices rollover bar,Recaro seats, harnesses
and the all important roof mounted spotlight!
