This lovely early Riley Tourer has a well known and documented history since World War II when owned by Max Williamson, a well known early member of the VSCC. Whilst under his ownership the car won the 1958 Riley Rally concours (Page 40, June 1961 Bulletin).
This Riley, most importantly, is an original 2 door Sports Special with 4 seats. Made in very small number this and one other are known to survive.
Registered in 1925 as a special Touring Car with Chassis Number 3868 and engine number W5444. This Riley has a centre gear change, cone clutch and 21 inch wire wheels.
A Ricardo crank shaft has been fitted changing the firing order to 1.3.4.2., together with head and cam shaft purportedly guaranteeing 60 mph!
An invoice amongst a number for over £6000 in 2022 for an engine rebuild is on file.
Delightfully original, structurally and mechanically sound this super early Riley with full weather equipment is available for £19,500.
