The 1931 MG M Type Midget is a wonderful piece of British motoring history that helped define the affordable sports car segment. A total of 3,235 units were built between 1929 and 1932. It was popular in motorsports with owners competing in hill climbs, trials and club races at venues like Brooklands and Donington.
This 1931 example powered by the 847cc 4 cylinder engine mated to the 3 speed gearbox is in need of restoration. A runner some 5 years ago it has not been started or fettled for the last few years. The engine turns over and fires, the wheels have been restored and a new wiring loom is included but not fitted.
The MG is registered in the UK in 1982 but declared manufactured as 1931. This is borne out by the buff coloured log book which states original registration as 27th November 1931.
The number plate MG 1318 is transferable.
A very worthwhile project, believed to be complete with parts readily available, it is priced at £9,900.
