1932 Riley 9hp Monaco

A time warp Riley Monaco in need of restoration but such a worthwhile project when finished.

Registered on the 29th Feb 1932, this car is now 22 years old!  It carries it`s original registration number, BR9284, and has a V5 with the correct chassis number 6015991.

The car was partially dismantled in the 80`s for an engine rebuild and as is often the case things quickly progressed and then got out of control!

The body is very sound and the door shuts remarkably good. The interior is highly original, the door cards are well preserved, the leather is in good condition and even the headlining is eminently saveable. The floorboards are present but will need remaking as the `worm` has got to them. All the joining metalwork is present. The car even comes with it’s period Rotax 6 volt battery holders and cradles!

The radiator is in very good condition externally and the dashboard is complete with instrumentation.

The car has the silent 3rd gearbox which is present with ancillaries. The engine is the mag drive variant and is completely dismantled but it would appear that work has been carried out to the block in the past. Ashridge Automobiles can help with any of the smaller parts that may be missing or beyond restoration and the Register Spares can help with consumables. The wheels are in good condition and the tyres hold air.

An ideal project for a keen amateur restorer and a worthwhile project in these uncertain times.
