This purposeful and powerful Riley Special was formerly owned by Jim Dunbar and is being used regularly.

It is correctly registered and consists of a 1933 Riley “9” chassis which is of a lightweight construction together with 12/4 axles and Girling rod brakes.  A preselecta gearbox which was rebuilt within the last 8 years and a 4.1:1 rear axle ratio is fitted.

The engine, rebuilt by Ian Macfarlane, is a powerful unit indeed.  To Sprite plus spec with ultra high compression pistons, shell big ends, new cams, RM rocker gear, genuine Sprite carbs, modern oil filter conversion, lightened flywheel plus much more. The unit itself would cost a very large sum indeed.

The Riley is suitable for many events, especially long distance rallies having ample luggage space, it has been rallied extensively during the last 25 years.
