1933 Riley 12/6 Mentone

An early example of the Riley Mentone that was last on the road in 1970 and has been subject to a (very!) long term restoration. The work is now complete and the car is running well with £2000 just spent with a marque expert to prepare it for the road.
Presented in two tone dark over light brown with black vinyl roof, the paint is in excellent condition and the ash frame is sound with the doors free of any wiggling. The Rotax head and side lights have been fully restored and the sidelights benefit from having an LED conversion to give bright and reliable indicating.
Inside the car is upholstered with its original brown leather on the seats and door cards. The brown carpets are new all round as is the beige headlining. The woodwork and dashboard present well with restored white lettering and a full set of instruments.
Powered by the Riley 12/6 engine and mated to the all helical gearbox, the car runs well with the smooth running engine pulling as it should and maintaining good oil pressure.
A rare car now, Mentones provide the spacious cabin of a Monaco but with the extra performance provided by the 6 cylinder engine. This particular example is a very early car and has great potential for family motoring and touring.
