“If a picture paints 1000 words” (Bread 1971)

A truly stunning restoration of an original Riley Imp.

This car is an early version, being registered on the 5th September 1934. The car is fitted with an all helical manual 4 speed gearbox which was available in period and is mated to a slightly later Merlin engine with twin SUs, as was often the case. Merlin engines were more robust with a stronger crank and external oil filter.

This car has undergone a no expense spared, nut and bolt restoration, evidenced by a frightening collection of invoices. It is as good underneath as on top.

The car won just about everything in the 2014 Coventry Riley rally.

The history is interesting and is included in the definitive guide to the Imp by John Gathercole on pages 76/77.

Past owners include a Spitfire pilot followed by Dr Tony Birmingham, the well known Riley historian, in the 1950’s.

Often voted the prettiest sports car of the 30’s; this stunning, original example, is ready for its new custodian.

Not cheap!
