The Bentley 4 1/4 litre three position Drophead Coupe is a true gem from the 1930s, bodied by world renowned coachbuilder such, as in this case, Van Den Plas.

The “three position” refers to the convertible roof’s versatility; it could be fully closed, partially open Sendanca style or fully down for open air motoring.

Mechanically restored this Derby Bentley is a marvel of pre-war engineering and elegance.  This car wasn’t just built, it was crafted with bespoke coachwork and Rolls Royce engineering (Bentley was under Rolls Royce at the time).

ELF 314 has been subject to major mechanical work by previous owners to the tune of a mind boggling £200,000 with complete documentation in extensive files (see photos).

Works include an engine rebuild, a fully rebuilt MX gearbox with overdrive, radiator rebuild, rear axle overhaul.  Much of the work was carried out by renowned Marque specialists, Fiennes Restorations.

Driving beautifully this lovely Bentley, finished in original silver with red upholstery is awaiting it is next discerning custodian.
