A beautifully presented Riley 9 Sports Special. Registered on the 24th December 1931, chassis number 6025700 is taxed as an historic vehicle and as a sports model. WX 9365 started life as a Monaco saloon and interestingly was converted to a woody estate years ago, before the present reincarnation.
It is painted in a deep maroon with black leather upholstery and is fitted wtih compete weather equipment which, with the full windscreen and the superb fit, give much more protection than is normal on a Riley Sports Special!
The engine has been rebuilt and improved and the 4 speed silent 3rd gearbox with Brooklands remote changes smoothly.
The chassis is original and has been shortened and a new ash frame has been made and covered with exceptionally well finished aluminium panelwork. It even has doors.
Pictures of the build and also invoices are contained in the file.
This Riley comes with a buff log book and has taken part in VSCC trials for which it is ideally suited, with a large rear mounted fuel tank and the ability to carry twin spare wheels.
