Registration: RPL 281
Chassis Number: 232034
Date of build: 24th April 1956
Heritage Certificate supplied
We are delighted to offer this factory RHD, highly eligible BN2 model 100/4 with excellent provenance and a wide range of fast road improvements with all original parts retained to be reverted if desired.
The car is eligible for events such as Goodwood Revival, Mille Miglia, FISCAR Series, Le Mans Legends, VSCC 1950s Sports Racing cars and the HSCC Griffiths Haig Trophy (FIA HTP not required). Everything removed (or replaced) from the car has been carefully retained so that should a subsequent owner want to revert it back to original specification, it can be done very easily. All parts were generally supplied by Denis Welch Motorsport and AH Spares.
This genuine UK RHD car was personally exported from London by Mr A Harel, the first owner, to Tanzania where it remained until it travelled to Mauritius in 1966. Wearing the registration A 562, the car passed through 4 Navy officers serving at HMS Mauritius (the island’s land installation) until 1971 where it was shipped back to the UK aboard RFA ‘Hebe’ where it has remained since. The car still wears it’s AA Tanganyika (now Tanzania) badge.
The history file for the car is exceptional with a folder containing paperwork from Mauritius, including invoices, fuel ration books and the shipping paperwork from 1971. Invoicing and correspondence confirms the car was resprayed from the original Healey Blue to red in 1970. The original Mauritius and UK log books are present along with many past MOTs as well as a brim filled box file of invoices from the car’s life in the UK dating back to 1971!
The car is very solid and has all its original panels. It was last serviced by Pennant Classics in October 2025 with over £1,700.00 spent.
Many improvements have been carried out to make this a reliable, safe and entertaining car to drive. This is not an exhaustive list by any means, but they include:
The car also comes with full weather equipment (tonneau, hood and sidescreens) as well as it’s original bumpers and all parts that have been removed or replaced, as mentioned above, to allow the car to be reverted to any original specification for event eligibility.
