A well built and purposeful Riley Special built by Ian Swallow, the renowned Riley engineer, who built the beautiful 2 door Riley Special the `Kescock.`
Powered by the Riley 12/4 engine mated to the 4 speed preselecta gearbox and with a 4.1:1 high axle ratio the Riley is imbued with oodles of power and great top end cruising speed.
The mechanics include shell big ends, a modern oil filter, Sprite camshafts,1 9/16ths inlet cams, hardened valve seats and post war 1 ¼ inch SU carbs. The steering box is Marles type ex Volvo 120 with a Mercedes 190 steering damper which makes for light and precise steering; a delight.
Being a widetrack with doors the car is suitable for the taller/larger driver and the interior is nicely finished in blue leather with a comprehensive array of instrumentation. Weather equipment is extremely efficient and incorporates a very clever hood mechanism.
A great Riley that can be used for all types of events.
