1936 Riley 9 Special
Registration: ED 9689
Date of first registration: 25/01/1936
Tax Class/Body type : Historic Tourer
Initially registered as a Tourer, as evidenced by the buff log book ,this well sorted and presented Riley Special would make a competitive trials car, eminently suitable for VSCC and similar events.
This Riley with it’s preselecta gearbox for ease of gear changing uses the drilled 8`10″ chassis from the Riley merlin which adds lightness as Colin Chapman would have said.
With a lightweight body and chassis the Riley goes very well . Add another spare wheel and luggage/boot rack which together with its high ground clearance this prewar Riley would be considered a competitive trials machine. Alternatively a usable car for events such as the 1000 Mile Trial.
For those who know the number plate which is transferable has been valued by Reg Transfers at £3750.
